The ADV is used when the Director wants to establish a driver to pavement relationship. Camera, lighting and sound can all be moved in close to the windshield. This variation was used in the film Crank.

The Buck is a vehicle that has been cut down to open-up a particular shot or shots. Then it's bolted to the shooting platform that can accommodate a wide variety of equipment and crew, and pulled by the Front Clip. This variation was used in filming The Bourne Supremacy.

Another common use of the S.F.I. Rig is as a high speed shooting platform. Again, the rig can be put together in an almost unlimited number of ways with both equipment and crews safely secured. Here a S.F.I. Rig special truss safety rig has been used to drag Johnny Knoxville down the highway in the film The Dukes of Hazzard.

A Special Effects Variation can be created with an almost unlimited number of possibilities. Here the General Lee from the film The Dukes of Hazzard has been canted on its side to create the illusion of driving on two wheels.

To the left, a 15' Technocrane is used in combination with an ADV of a HUM V for the film Déjà vu.

Here a S.F.I. Rig special truss safety rig has been used to pull 2 actors on SFX motor bike rigs in the film The Bourne Legacy.

Option 3b: The Shooting Platform

Here is a variation used in filming Need For Speed. The vehicle has been cut down to open-up for particular shots from the outside through the windshield, and trough the right end  left side windows. The crew is in seats bolted the the platform.

Option 2b: The Buck

Here another variation used in filming Need For Speed. This vehicle has been cut down to open-up for interior shots looking forward and through the windows from outside. The crew is in seats bolted to the platform. The Driver’s Pod is mounted at the rear of the platform.

Option 2c: The Buck

Here a S.F.I. Rig special truss safety rig has been used to push a SFX motor bike rig in the film The Bourne Legacy. A 15’ Technocrane is mounted on the shooting platform.

Option 3c: The Shooting Platform

Here the Aston Martin DBS from the James Bond film Quantum of Solace has been canted on its side to create the illusion of driving on two wheels.
